This week we are reviewing XClear's True Wireless Earbuds.

Hey everyone we have a great affordable tech product for those of you looking for a pair of wireless earbuds but don't want to shell out the big bucks.

We gave XClear's True Wireless Earbuds a try and we were surprised that for under $25 you can get a decent pair of wireless earbuds.

Before we get too far, I will be sharing our Amazon link here, these earbuds are on Amazon for $23.99 this week. If you use our link, we will receive a small commission from Amazon. That's the best price I could find for this product and I'm happy to share that with you.

First thoughts:

I like the style, they are attractive and not cumbersome. This is my first try of true wireless earbuds. If you are on a budget and want to give wireless earbuds a go, XClear has a decent brand. But my first thoughts have to include the sound issues.  The sound is light and needs some bass. You can turn up the volume, but the sound leaves me a little frustrated.

Charging the XClear Earbuds is easy

I love how easy it is to charge the earbuds. You simply put them into their case, and they have a digital display of how much battery is left.  The case is small and easy to toss in your bag.

I also like the magnetic snap of the pods in the case. It’s very satisfying to click them in.

The XClear comes with a USB to Type C cord to recharge the charging case and earbuds. Mamas, this means that if that cord gets lost or broken, you probably already have a few more of these cords in the junk drawer.

These are Water Resistant Earbuds

Can you swim in them? No, I wouldn't. But they are sweat and rain resistant. So, if you have sweaty ears, this could be helpful.

What we liked:

  • Size and weight
  • Easy pairing
  • Nice charging case

Fast Pairing is nice.

I was impressed with how easy it was to pair these earbuds and get started. These earbuds use Bluetooth 5.0 technology. But you can only have one device connected to them at a time.

The case has a nice feel and look.

The Xclear Wireless Earbud Case feels solid and it isn’t too large or heavy. It opens nicely and stays closed.  It’s also smooth in your pocket. I like that it is all one piece, so you won’t lose the lid.

You close the charging case with the earbuds inside to charge, disconnect them or use the single ear mode.  You can also turn off the earbuds by pressing and holding the button for 3-4 seconds.

The XClear Earbuds fit well.

They are light, a decent size weight.  The earbuds are 1 ½ inches.  And they do work individually, so you can just toss one in your ear and go.  This is great for calls.

As a side note, they just don’t feel super secure in my ear. So I found myself acutely aware of their movement as I tested them.  I did drop them a few times out of my ear, so make sure you are getting the right cap on there to get a better fit. Once I moved to a bigger ring, they stayed in better and were a little more noise dampening.

I like the touch-tap feature that doesn't require a full push.  You can play and pause,  playback and skip, and reject a call from the touch-sensitive button.  You can also access the virtual assistant with the same touch action.

Sound Quality

I don’t feel like the sound quality is great. The sound is light as if it’s missing the bass. The music falls flat.  I tried a few different songs like Novacaine by The Unlikely Candidates  and Ain't no Rest For The Wicked My Lennon and Stella.

I love music, so whatever device I use must make the music quality their top priority. So I was a little disappointed with the XClear Wireless Earbuds. They do have budget sound, it's not the worst. But it's not amazing either.

There is no sound quality adjustment so music sounds a bit tinny. EQ settings would be helpful here.

Volume Control is done on the phone only.

At first, this annoyed me. However, unlike some of my other devices, not fussing with the earbud to adjust the sound isn’t a big deal.

Can I use these earbuds while I sleep?

I wouldn’t suggest these while you sleep since they are a little light, and you will likely knock them out when you sleep.

Mamas, I did have a moment where I dropped one and almost lost it.  So make sure you get the right fit so it’s snug in your ear. Even though they are inexpensive, you don't want to lose one.

Also, these are not noise-canceling, so if that’s what you are looking for, I would say these aren’t the buds you are looking for. For true noise cancelling, check out our review of Microsoft's Surface Headphones.

Can I work out with these earbuds?

While I like the oval shape, and I think that fits better in my ear hole, I still found them a little loose, and I kept messing with them throughout the day to keep them in my ear.

My workout of choice is the Peloton bike and yoga.  For the bike, these work fine, and you can pair them with your Peloton bike.  But for anything bouncy or movement driven like yoga, they did not work well for me.

I wouldn’t suggest these for running since they can get a little loose with motion.

How is the Battery Life on the XClear True Wireless Earbuds?

The battery has 4-5 hours of play per charge. I listened to them all day and I didn’t have any battery issues. I just tossed them on the charger when I wasn’t using them

Are the XClear True Wireless Earbuds worth the cost?

At the price point, I can forgive the sound quality. The size, charging, and ease of use definitely bring my rating up. I also think the price point is a plus.  For a good pair of earbuds without the price bite, these are definitely a decent find.

Nerm Mama Thoughts:

Many times the kids want to have the same tech their friends or family are using. For the cost, this pair of earbuds for tweens and teens to use would work well.

But do talk to them about volume control, as this set can get very loud and damage your ears after prolonged use.
